Manager/Senior Manager, Medical Communications


Facilitate the creation and execution of the strategic publications plans for clinical development drug candidates. Position will be responsible for coordinating projects across diverse, multi-functional internal stakeholders and manage an external Medical Communications vendor to meet established deadlines.

  • Source and consolidate input from internal stakeholders and external experts to create an aligned strategic publications plan
  • Manage operational logistics for all clinical publications to meet submission deadlines and organizational needs in timely fashion
  • Communicate progress to publications plan to leadership

Manage projects with broad organizational participation including Advisory Boards and Steering Committee meetings;

  • Lead the planning of logistics for meetings of high impact and organizational visibility including Scientific Advisory Boards, Steering Committee Meetings, and Authorship Working Groups
  • Manage event planning and Medical Communication vendors to ensure successful output from Scientific Advisory Boards and related meetings
  • Communicate with external experts in a professional, peer-to-peer manner

Plan and build the infrastructure to support the literature requirements of a mid-size biopharmaceutical company including Regulatory filings, Research and Development summary documents, and Business Development due diligence;

  • Identify, procure and interpret the findings of emerging scientific literature relevant to the Company development programs; and
  • Ensure the Company is in compliance with all relevant regulations regarding the use of copyrighted materials.


  • Advanced degree in related field is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, etc)
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant Medical Communications experience is required;
  • Strong leadership, accountability, interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment;
  • Proficiency in the use of literature searching databases;
  • Proven ability to successfully execute complex tactical plans;
  • Proven ability to interpret and contextualize complex scientific information;
  • Knowledge of all legal and regulatory guidelines affecting Good Publication Practices and interactions with health care providers;
