VP Commercial Manufacturing & Supply Chain
Overall responsible for contract manufacturing and supply chain operations for all company products to ensure corporate quality, sales and cost objectives are achieved. This includes materials management planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, inventory, distribution and oversight of all supply chain management activities. Develop manufacturing and operational strategies focused on providing a secure and reliable supply chain for the manufacturing and delivery of finished goods. Oversee the manufacture of commercial products within appropriate levels of compliance to ensure patient safety and minimize business risk. Oversee logistics, inventory management and distribution of products including the management of forecast vs. demand planning while meeting financial cost targets. Develop and update of the supply forecast based on sales and inventory targets on a monthly and quarterly basis. This includes continued communication with Marketing, Sales, Finance and Senior Management teams to ensure uninterrupted supply to the market. Develop, manage and maintain supplier relationships and contractual agreements. Institute key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding service levels, backorders, inventory levels, forecast accuracy, and production planning against established budget and performance goals. Participate in new product development and in-licensing opportunities as the supply chain functional lead. In cooperation with drug substance and drug product teams, create manufacturing and operational strategies for supply chain deliverables which include supply chain design, product life cycle management, demand and requirements planning, capacity planning, launch sequencing and commercialization planning. In cooperation with Quality and Regulatory functions, ensure all manufacturing and supply chain operations are in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines. Manage any company funded capital projects at suppliers within budgets and timelines. Utilize and manage outside contractors or engineering firms to achieve company goals within schedule and budget constraints. Communicate supply status to senior management regularly and at the appropriate level of detail.
Minimum Qualifications: Excellent strategic thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to successfully create and implement both short and long range plans to support the business strategy; Possess a willingness and ability to work hands-on and with a sense of urgency, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; Ability to see the overall environment; to organize and assimilate data/information; to prepare contingency plans and future strategies; to be proactive; and to initiate continuous improvement projects; Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of audiences; and Ability to successfully identify, vet, negotiate with and manage third party vendors.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to build a successful operational organization; Sustained track record of achievement in manufacturing and supply chain management; and Substantial experience in launching and commercializing new products.
Education, Experience & Working Conditions: BA/BS degree in engineering, science or business; MS, MSc, MBA or PhD in a related field is highly preferred; 15 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or supply chain organization within the pharmaceutical industry and at least 10 years in a leadership position; and Requires ability to travel minimum of 25% in US, Europe and possibly other countries.
