Executive Director, Marketing – Market Access
Summary – This position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and will act as the overall market access/payer/organized customer segment leader for Neurocrine and be responsible for development of our strategy and execution of managed care and pricing strategies, sharing of customer insights and tactical recommendations for our lead product as well as pipeline products.
Key Responsibilities – Developing, managing and implementing our value platform, pricing and payer strategies in collaboration with the brand marketing and Medical Affairs team; staffing, management and developing of the market access team, including the managed care account managers and other in-house staff; developing and implementing product distribution strategies including third-party logistics; leading the pricing and contract review committees/teams; managing channel inventory levels; modeling and updating gross-to net estimates together with finance; providing input into product revenue and manufacturing forecasts; developing patient financial assistance programs; reporting government best price; contract rebate and chargeback administration; management and business planning of departmental budget; actively participates as senior commercial team member.
BS/BA in a related field and MBA highly preferred; requires a minimum of 10 years pf managed markets, sales/account management pricing and contracting, and/or brand marketing related experience in pharma/biotech industry/consulting environment, including 5 years in a senior management role. Requires significant experience in a payer marketing and/or sales role, prior experience launching specialty drugs and a strong working knowledge of the current payer and trade environment. Product experience in Psychiatric and/or Neurologic therapeutic area is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working in both a cross-functional team environment and with third party vendors, customers payers and staff. Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify key issues and value drivers and convert these concepts into actionable tactical plans. Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal consultation from the supervisor is critical.
