LIMS Application Analyst, Research
We are seeking a highly-motivated and collaborative individual to join our LIMS support and administration team. This individual will configure the Research Department laboratory information management system to meet end-user needs, create specific workflow guides, test new features and be responsible for user training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):
Works on complex LIMS configurations to meet LIMS user’s requirements from the interdisciplinary research team.
Responsible for LIMS documentation, including creating scientific workflow specific LIMS walkthroughs and new version test plans
Trains end-users on basic and advanced LIMS usage.
Coordinates with LIMS vendor team to maintain and improve the system in an efficient manner.
Provides end-user support for the LIMS including troubleshooting problems at the server level.
Adds, modifies, and removes users from the LIMS.
Thorough knowledge of LIMS concepts, basic research laboratory workflow exposure, intermediate SQL and oracle/relational database concepts
Experience with LIMS software preferred
Experience troubleshooting software issues
Experience with networked barcode printers and wireless barcode scanners
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to communicate abstract informatics concepts to scientists
Continuous drive to improve processes for improved performance
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BS in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of relevant experience preferred; may substitute relevant industry experience for educational requirement.
