Sr. IT Specialist
SUMMARY: This individual works with technical teams and uses accumulated technical knowledge and judgment to solve problems encountered in a fast paced highly technical information technology environment. Support a mix of entry level and advance users in a demanding multi-user networked environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):
Provide support to both local and remote employees in a Windows 7/10 environment. Track and document all incoming issue calls and resolutions into the helpdesk system Trackit. Setup new desktops, laptops, printers, and phones for new hires. Provide additional support to Director IT infrastructure as a backup systems administrator for Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 and VMware servers. Trouble shoot, monitor and maintain LAN/Wireless network communications equipment. Assist with file server backups and file restorations using multiple backup systems for VM, NetApp, and EMC. Assist with the management and creation of user profiles using Active Directory which includes creating and applying group policies. Provide high level technical support to end-users. Trouble shoot all issues involving hardware, software, and cloud based systems used by the company. Other duties as assigned.
Complete understanding of Microsoft environments which include Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2003-2012. Working knowledge of Office 365 hosted Exchange Server and Sharepoint. Working knowledge of deploying VPN technologies for both internal and external users. Complete working knowledge of Office Suite 2010, 2013, and 2016. Good oral and written communication skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
MCP certified with 7+ years of experience as an IT specialist and software/hardware support specialist. Minimum 7 years working knowledge of standard office automation tools such as, MS Office 2010-2016, MS Exchange, and Office 365 Cloud based hosted solutions. Complete understanding of MS Windows 2007, 10, and Windows Server 2008-2012. Proven ability to create and deliver solutions that meet corporate objectives tied to business and technology performance. Operate in a wide range of platforms and environments. I have to ability to provide proactive identification and resolution of critical systems/network issues.
