Cross-border data transfer
If we transfer your personal information from Europe to a country outside of it and are required to apply additional safeguards to that personal information under European data protection laws, we will do so:

EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks
Neurocrine Biosciences participates in and complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (“EU-U.S. DPF”), the UK Extension of the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (“Swiss-U.S. DPF”) (collectively, “DPF”) as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information from European Union member countries, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
As a DPF participant, Neurocrine Biosciences is committed to and has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to: (i) the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles with regard to the processing of personal information received from the European Union; (ii) the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles with regard to the processing of personal information received from the United Kingdom; and (iii) the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (collectively, the “DPF Principles”) with regard to the processing of personal information received from Switzerland. If there is any conflict between the terms in this Privacy Policy and the DPF Principles, the DPF Principles shall govern. Our commitments to the DPF program are subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the US Federal Trade Commission.
We may collect, use, and disclose personal information that is subject to the DPF Principles with our third-party service providers. We restrict their access, use and disclosure of personal information in compliance with our DPF obligations. Neurocrine Biosciences may be liable under the DPF if these third parties process such personal information in a manner inconsistent with the DPF, unless Neurocrine Biosciences proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
You have the right to request access to personal information received by Neurocrine Biosciences in reliance on the DPF, and to exercise choice in limiting Neurocrine Biosciences’ use and disclosure of such information. Neurocrine Biosciences does not use or share the personal information we collect for purposes other than the purposes we disclose to the relevant individuals. We do not use clinical trial participants’ personal information for purposes other than those described in the informed consent form and the study protocol for the relevant clinical trial. The informed consent form sets out choices trial participants may have under laws and regulations that govern clinical trials, such as the choice to withdraw consent for further participation in a clinical trial.
Neurocrine Biosciences does not use website visitors’ or mobile application users’ or healthcare providers’ personal information for purposes other than those described in this Privacy Policy. Users of the Services and healthcare providers have the ability to opt out of receiving marketing communications, as described in this Privacy Policy.
We may be required to disclose personal information received by us in reliance on the DPF in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
In compliance with the DPF Principles, we encourage you to contact us at any time as specified in the Contact Us section above with questions, concerns, or complaints about our privacy practices and participation in the DPF. You may also refer a complaint to your local data protection authority and Neurocrine Biosciences will work with them to resolve your concern.
Neurocrine Biosciences has further committed to refer unresolved DPF complaints to JAMS, an alternative dispute resolution provider located in the United States. Please note that the foregoing processes apply only to the resolution of disputes regarding personal information received by Neurocrine Biosciences under the DPF.
